Spring Break Gambling On The Gulf Coast

I just tried to proof this and realized how long it is. I occasionally get off the gambling path a little bit but it is hard for me to leave out stuff that was central to the story. If you have ever read one of my TRs, you already know what I mean.
Our spring break was a couple of weeks ago and I could think of no where I would rather be than down on the Coast gambling. The plan was to spend one night at The Grand Biloxi (which will become The Margaritaville Casino sometime later this century) and then move over to The Hard Rock for two more nights. The night at The Grand was mostly to let them know I was still kicking and keep me on their mailing list but I wanted to do some more serious gambling at The Hard Rock.
Check-in at The Grand was super quick and we were in the room 5 minutes after turning the keys over to the valet guy. As requested, we had a nice view of the pool directly beneath us and the Gulf across the highway. So far, they have not built enough floors over there at the Margaritaville site to block the view. In fact, I hope they limit the floors there so that the view from this side of the highway is not blocked. Back before Katrina, I thought the rooms on this side of the highway were the best ones on property and I still like them. Very comfortable. Read the rest of this entry »

Hard Rock Weekend Trip Report

Our first stop was the Island View where I started out losing, then my luck changed. I started hitting on penny slots and soon was up several hundred. I decided to play max bets on a Pompeii machine and got the bonus with a 5X pay. I got $800 on that spin. Nice, I leave the IV up, which made me feel good.

On to the Hard Rock to check in. Received a room on the 9th floor, and then headed down to eat at the Grill. I decided to play at Hard Rock since Beau was having a drawing. I did awful at Hard Rock. Could not hit squat there. I knew I had my winnings in the safe up the room, so I just kept playing with the money I brought, hoping that my luck would turn around.
